The shell is sturdy and built to fit on a flatbed. The truck must have a flatbed and a payload capacity of 1800 lb or more depending on how you pack. The demo model weighs 1750 lb fully loaded. The base of the camper is approximately 83" (L) x 75" (W). In order for the included ladder to be lowered, the camper must extend over the back of the bed by about 3", but the tie downs at the rear corners will have to angle forward or the bed anchor points extended to the rear. Consult a metal fabricator to see if the bed can be lengthened. The demonstration truck currently being constructed has a 82 7/8" (L) x 76" (W) flatbed. Ideal dimensions are 80"(L)x77"(W). Trucks come in multiple configurations with a range of carrying capacities. The Ford Ranger is best in class at 1860 lb. It also depends on how heavy the flatbed is: remember that the stock bed is removed, but the flatbed can weigh less, the same or more than the stock bed depending on construction. For those trucks with payload capacity less than 1800 lb, overloads or upgraded springs will be necessary. If going on washboard roads, shock upgrades are recommended. According to the manufacturer, the shell weighs 750lb, without any of the interior or standard accessories. The demo model weighs 1750lb fully loaded, which is the more important figure. This includes everything necessary to go camping: a full tank of water, battery, food, accessories, clothing, chainsaw and various tools. The jack stands are not included. The campers as delivered weigh 1350lb, with the jack stands x 4 weighing 108lb. Remember to consider the spare tire, extra fuel, Hi-Lift jack etc. The water tank is 18.5 gallons and water weighs 8.35lb per gallon for a total of 154lb. A 20lb propane tank (not included) weighs about 30lbs. Lithium 100 ah batteries weigh around 30lb, whereas lead acid 100ah batteries weigh around 60-75lb.

You can pick up the shell locally in Bend, Oregon, or have it shipped by the shipper of your choice. If you're bolting the shell to your existing flatbed, pickup is the easiest option. If you're using the included clamps and brackets, the bed needs to be 75"–80" wide; the length can be longer or shorter.

The base is 75"W x 39"H x 83"L. The top is 124" in length. You might want to make the flat bed longer to store spare tire and recovery gear between the front of the camper and the back of the cab. The shell comes with tie downs, but some owners have drilled through the floor and clamped directly to the bed.

Lithium costs more, but lasts much longer, is much lighter (31 pounds), charges much more quickly and discharges completely. I personally use Battle Born 100Ah 12V LiFePO4 Heated Deep cycle Battery (on sale $949). It is self heated which enables use and charging in freezing weather without damage. It is guaranteed with a 10 year warranty and life expectancy is 3000 - 5000 cycles.

You get a lightweight shell built for efficient packing and practical travel off the grid. Less weight can help reduce the need for suspension upgrades, improve fuel use, and make your truck easier to handle on long routes and rough terrain. The flatbed and gullwing layout also give you faster access and more usable storage, so you can carry what you need without unnecessary bulk.

The inside height is 6' 4".

If bolting the shell to the bed, the width can be less than 75". The length of the bed can be shorter or longer than the base length of 83" whether using the supplied brackets and hooks or bolting. If the bed is 8' or 96", this gives the option of placing the shell more towards the rear and leaving space for the spare tire between the truck cab and front of the shell.
