Truck Bed
A flatbed truck with a payload capacity of 1,800 pounds or more is essential for installing the Optimized Overlanding camper. The demo model shell weighs 750 pounds when dry, without any interior or standard accessories, and reaches 1,750 pounds when fully loaded. The camper's base dimensions are roughly 83 x 75 inches. It includes a 200-watt solar capacity supported by a 2,000-watt inverter/charger, featuring two 110-volt outlets and a 30-amp shore power connection, although a battery is not provided. The solar charger is designed to work seamlessly with lithium batteries, improving energy storage. You can choose your battery type, from lead-acid to lithium options. Although more expensive, lithium batteries have a longer lifespan, are lightweight, charge quickly, and can be fully discharged. The manufacturer recommends the Battle Born 100 amp-hour 12-volt LiFePO4 heated deep cycle battery, which comes with a 10-year warranty and an estimated lifespan of 3,000 to 5,000 cycles.
